We have strong Research & Development (R&D) teams here at Leighs Paints. Using the most effective research sources available, we constantly challenge and look at alternative ways of creating new, innovative materials so we can be sure to support the markets we serve. Key to this is the information we receive from our customers who we see as part of the Research & Development Team.
To achieve our vision: To Be World Class in R&D, we believe that the right environment helps to stimulate the creative mind. Our highly skilled chemists work in relaxed surroundings with state of the art equipment that allows us to remain at the leading edge of technology, producing new (often patentable) coatings.
Dedicated research teams strive to stay ahead of up and coming legislations helping to protect the environment by reducing, and where possible, substituting hazardous ingredients. Working closely with our Sales force, Leighs Paints has developed coatings in line with recent European requirements such as the Solvent Emissions Directive (SED).
We are especially proud of our testing facilities. Our Fire Test Centre allows us to research different concepts so we produce leading edge fire protection products; our dedicated marine test sites allow us to fully test any new product before it’s launched to market and our state of the art thermal analysis equipment means we can put new materials through rigorous weathering processes to ensure we produce quality coatings. |
